A farewell to earth’s rarest pink diamonds
A significant chapter in the global diamond industry has now ended. The Argyle Mine, long regarded as the world’s only consistent source of natural pink diamonds, has produced its final collection of extraordinary stones. Though operations officially ceased in 2020, the mine retained a reserved inventory of unpolished, pink diamond-bearing rough. In the years since, Argyle has undertaken the meticulous and time-intensive process of cutting and polishing this final stockpile.
With the Argyle mine’s final Tender concluded in October 2025, the beginning of 2026 marks the first time in 40 years that there will be no new premium stock of Argyle certified diamonds entering the primary market.
This structural shift permanently eliminates primary supply, fundamentally altering market dynamics. As a result, wholesale availability is now exceptionally limited, confined solely to our existing inventory.
Once these remaining diamonds are absorbed, officially Argyle certified diamonds will transition entirely to the secondary market, with premiums driven by their finite supply, ongoing global demand, and strong historical appreciation.
